Anurag Kashyap Slams Beef-eating Scene From 'The Kerala Story 2': Calls It A 'Propaganda Movie'

Mumbai: Since the release of the trailer, 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond' is making headlines but nothing is positive, the film is receiving backlash for the facts. Now filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has slammed the movie and called it a propaganda film that attempts to divide people and spread hatred. 

What did Anurag Kashyap say about 'The Kerala Story 2'?

Anurag Kashyap, who was in Kochi on Sunday to attend the Filmfare Awards South, criticized 'The Kerala Story 2' and called it a propaganda film.

While replying to the question, whether he has seen the trailer of 'The Kerala Story 2', the filmmaker aid that, "The Kerala Story is s*** movie. It is bull**** propaganda. Total bull****. Aisa kaun beef khilata hai? Aisa koi khichdi bhi nahi khilata hai (Who feeds someone beef like this? No one is fed even khichdi in this manner). Bakwaas (nonsense) picture. It is called crap.”

"They just want to make money and please everybody; divide people. The filmmaker is a greedy man. He just wants to make money," he further added.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also criticized and condemned 'The Kerala Story 2'

“The reports regarding the release of a sequel to the hate-mongering film 'The Kerala Story' should be seen with utmost gravity. Having already seen through the communal agenda and blatant lies of the first part, Kerala will once again reject this attempt to demonise our secular fabric with contempt. It is shocking how fabricated narratives aimed at inciting communal discord receive a free pass, while critical expressions of art get gagged. We must stand united against these attempts to paint our land of harmony as a hub of terror. The truth shall always prevail,” Vijayan wrote on X a few days ago.

What is 'The Kerala Story 2' based on?

Directed by Kena Punda, 'The Kerala Story 2' is a sequel to the 2023 film 'The Kerala Story'.

'The Kerala Story 2' secured a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is slated to release in cinemas on February 27.

On February 18, 'The Kerala Story 2' trailer was released, which was quickly grabbed all the attention. According to the trailer, the film revolves around three women who convert to Islam after falling in love with Muslim men.
